The Numbers of Changing Seasons

The day is, of course, really 23 hours and 56 minutes long. The ways in which star time plays out with seasonal and man-meaned sun time are even more elegant than it might appear upon first, second or third glance! The blog title links to a Spacewatch article that gives a good physical description of the situation for everyday perception - and a good start for fun with shamanic numbering.

The new book of the week is STORYTELLING AND THE ART OF THE IMAGINATION, by Nancy Mellon. This is an inspiring collection of ways to be the shaman as storyteller in performance and everyday settings. It would be a great book to organize a storying teaching group around!
